this poem is a gut punch for me, raw and brilliant. "Bless the beasts and the children" comes to my mind, and aren't we all children deep down? What a story these poems tell! They're powerful as individual poems, but definitely a case where the whole of the series is even greater than the sum of the parts. I know there's a lot of stuff out there to read, but it's definitely worth spending time with this whole series--and perhaps there's more to come. A book in progress? Excited to read the interview later today
