Beautiful work. First burrito I’ve tasted since my chronic illnesses really kicked in a few decades ago. Why I’m not a poet of the body. It really helps me see this, thank you!

The two lines "smoothly swaddled to rip open//with my teeth, reveal soft meat." and the continuation of "the first bite of flesh and heat, I release" are such solid lines. The connection between the carnal sensations of eating and body exploration can be very grounding experiences for the body, but they can also emphasize the loss of control felt throughout the poem.
