"I’ve kept a rein on my life..."
I loved this too, so much. I agree that the translators should be credited. I love the rhythm of this poem, the pathos and the haunting, colourful imagery. It brought tears to my eyes. That for me is a good poem!
Fantastic poem by a great poet. Only please stop leaving the translators out of your sourcing! This one is by Edmund Keeley and Philip Sherrard.
Fucking awesome.
Magical, weaving images throughout, the last line.
Seems to me voicing regret: ‘I’ve kept a rein on my life’ a negative—the epiphany.
Brilliant, woefully underread Sefaris!
