Beautiful! Perhaps the soul, part of everything, best contains everything when it looks out from its integral place.

Lovely metaphors: keel, someplace to come back to. Simply elegant.

Oh, love this little bird of a poem. It kind of flits around like a goldfinch around a feeder, checking out each seed until it finds the "right" one. Thanks for curating!

I'm not sure I would call this a poem (simply because it's arranged in lines to visually resemble a poem - albeit vaguely), but I still very much like it as a piece of writing. I think this sort of thing would be far better without the visual arrangement to distract (or detract) from it as a lovely piece of writing. It should be called something like micro-non-fiction or somesuch. Kind of thing I was doing decades ago. Poetic and philosophical, for sure, and lovely little gems of language, but not poetry.

Perhaps OPD could have a new category for this sort of thing. It certainly has its merit, after all. But poetry should stick to being poetry. I think this kind of writing would stand out much better as micros, as I say. As it deserves to, I should also add.
