Hey all. I never considered myself a poet, but I've somehow accidentallied my way into being considered one. I've even won prizes for it. Whut? I think I've had more poetry published than prose, and that still shocks my brain meats. How did this happen? It is a mystery.
Hi there, I'm Vinnie, a poet trying to capture the essence of whatever draws my mind. I like musical poems, sounds that build, and pieces that ask the unexpected of the reader.
Hi, I'm Marybeth. I'm a philosopher by training, historian by trade, poet by heart. Been writing for professional publication for a couple of decades. I'm excited to find this community!
i've spent time learning rhyme and classic prose heaven knows poems with good syntax
endure when you lie back, and need to relax. There is beauty in poetry. Lovers share it with their partner. Repetition creates alliteration to roll off a reader's tounge. Once sprung rhyme can make you feel young. poets endue sharing more
thank you for your comments my web page is williamwaldorfpoetry.com and my latest book is 101 Stories of Love available on barnes and noble and Amazon.com i love poetry my secret mistress holds me with verse
Poems are like truffles—horrible idea, to gobble a whole box. I need/ want one a day. A slow dispensation. Just discovered Only Poems Daily this morning and it looks to be perfect. Subscribed! Love the concept. Love the line up of what you intend to send, mixing in the classics, all wonderfully conceived. Looking forward to reading what happens.
And thanks too for community-building and asking us to introduce ourselves. I'm a poet, novelist, reader, editor living on the outskirts of a college town in rural New England, so with wild turkeys, fawns, bobcats, owls—the whole crew. And little dogs I call The Doglettes. www.dmgordon.com
New to Substack and have just found this remarkable community. A treasure trove of poetry, so much to discover. Thank you for your commitment to our craft.
(PS - by way of introduction, I'm a poet originally from New Zealand, now writing from Warsaw, Poland.)
I happened to marry a scientist—wise? it’s hard to say—who harbours deep resentment toward the lack of specificity inherent to words, “because everything is numbers anyway.” I said that may be true, and as soon as he’s able to invent a method of teaching math without language, I’d be happy to entertain the idea of doing away with letters altogether.
If they’re going to find a way free of us, machines have a ways to go yet—because, at least in my world, it’s poems all the way down. And OnlyPoems delivers a good reminder.
Checking in from Central Minnesota. I am a river girl and feel out of sorts when I am not near water. Except if I am in Santa Fe, I am "enchanted" by Santa Fe. Poet, reader, INFP.

Hello everyone! My name is Lilith, and I would like to introduce you all to myself and my “Poetry Sister” Vanessa.
We are a bit unusual, in that we are two alters in a DID (dissociative identity disorder) system. See the below link for more info on that.
Thanks!
Lilith Vincent

A platform can only be as good as we make it, so, in the words of Captain Kirk, "Make it so."
Hi. I'm eighty-one years old enough to know better, and generally don't, which is why I write.

So thank you for feeding us all!
You’re doing fine work here, my friends.
